24 doors, sparkling lights and letters to the Christ Child: Enjoy the Advent season in Herzogenaurach with our living Advent calendar and Christmas market, with activities for children and families and musical highlights.
Our town is festively lit; every evening at 5 p.m. a door to the Living Advent Calendar opens on the stage at the market square. This year you will once again find the herzo Weihnachtslädchen in the town center with lots of great, homemade gift ideas and a shopping spree through Herzogenaurach is also worth it.
Christmas trees in the town center
Under the motto “Together we decorate our town center” this year there will once again be Christmas trees on the main street waiting for Christmas decorations. Whether with friends, family or alone, choose “your” tree and transform it into a beautiful Christmas tree.
The Living Advent Calendar
From December 1st, 24 days of anticipation wil be guaranteed by the Living Advent Calendar. Every day at 5.00 pm, the program creates a special Christmas atmosphere on the market square. On December 24th at 12.00 pm.
Christmas Market with After-Work-Glühwein
The long Christmas market weekend in Herzogenaurach begins with the After Work Glühwein on December 7th from 5 p.m. Look forward to Christmas-decorated stalls with beautiful gift ideas for Christmas. Musical Advent Calendar
A musical Advent calendar awaits you from December 1st to 22nd under the motto “Open the window for Christmas carols”. Ensembles that change every day will perform Christmas sounds from the windows of the music school or on the church square in front of the music school between 3 p.m. and 6 p.m.More information
Letter to the Christ Child
While everybody is communicating via e-mail these days, the Christ Child is still reading good old-fashioned paper letters: As of December 1st, there will be a mail box waiting for the children‘s wish list letters. This mail box will be emptied for the last time on December 19th. Until then, all post cards and letters are welcome.
Exhibition "Let It Snow"
In keeping with Advent, there is a new exhibition in the town museum "Let It Snow" - snowy worlds under glass. Often ridiculed as kitsch, snow globes are now sought-after collector's items. The exhibition will show around 300 specimens from December 3, 2023 to February 4, 2024.
