Concert: Monologue of the lonely

On Saturday, November 16, 2024, culture prize winner Lars Töpperwien will be coming to the Herzogenaurach Music Initiative with the Lars Töpperwien Septet for an extraordinary concert at 8 pm.

Together with his septet, trumpeter and composer Lars Töpperwien explores the interfaces between improvised music and spoken art. His compositions tell of the contradictions and ruptures of our time and have no less a goal than to open up new perspectives. The beautiful as well as the ugly / deviant find their place in the jointly created sound space. The starting points are usually short stories and poems as well as open scores and playing instructions. Improvisation is the binding link. The encounter between language and music is characterized by a constant exchange as well as a concentrated juxtaposition.

New forms of storytelling are explored together with the audience. Under the title “Monolog der Einsamen”, the ensemble presents music from its album of the same name, released in 2024, as well as new pieces.
